    Park Seo-Bo asked how to paint rather than what to paint, and kept changing the answer for five decades. This retrospective follows that line. It begins with the pencil Ecriture he started in 1967, drawing lines into white paint while it was still wet so the pigment piled up wherever a line bent. Then hanji, which soaks up pigment and clumps under the tool; then color; and finally old newspapers painted over.
