White Cube presents the first solo exhibition in Seoul of new works by artist, archivist and curator Theaster Gates (b. 1973 in Chicago, US, where he lives and works). Drawing from conceptual formalism, sculpture, space theory, land art and performance, in his practice Gates seeks to instigate the creation of cultural communities and catalyse social engagement that leads to political and spatial change.
